Abstract
Dietary diversity is an important indicator for assessing food security and the well-being of farming households. Although farming households have access to food resources through agricultural activities, such access does not necessarily ensure a diverse diet. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing dietary diversity among farming households in Nyalabuh Laok Village, Pamekasan District, Pamekasan Regency. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 55 farming households selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaire-based interviews and analyzed using descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression. The variables analyzed included farm income, education, household dependency size, household access to markets, the surrounding environment, and household status. The results show that the number of household dependents has a positive and significant effect on dietary diversity (p = 0.006), while household status is significant at the 10% level (p = 0.096). In contrast, farm income, education, household access to markets, and the surrounding environment do not have significant effects. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.253 indicates that the variables included in the model explain 25.3% of the variation in household dietary diversity. These findings indicate that dietary diversity among farming households is more closely associated with internal household characteristics than with economic factors and market access alone. Efforts to improve dietary diversity should therefore consider household structure, the needs of household members, consumption habits, and the utilization of local food resources.
